Netflix fans have admitted to being in tears over new series that’s ‘Seven meets Yellowstone’ starring a ‘criminally underused actor’.
The streaming giant have released the first teaser trailer for upcoming crime drama Untamed. The series has already got many fans anticipating its release.
However, there is still some time to wait as it won’t be available for streaming until July 17. According to the synopsis provided by Netflix, Untamed is a a character-driven mystery-thriller that follows Kyle Turner.
Turner is a special agent for the National Parks Service who works to enforce human law in nature’s vast wilderness. The investigation of a brutal death sends Turner on a collision course with the dark secrets within the park, and in his own past.
Australian actor Eric Bana, known for previous roles in Hulk, Troy and Black Hawk Down takes on the role of Kyle Turner. He is joined in the cast by original Jurassic Park star Sam Neill, along with Rosemarie DeWitt who has appeared in La La Land and The Boys.
Footage from the new teaser trailer shows the impressive setting being used in the show of Yosemite Park. It has encouraged comparisons from viewers even before they get to watch the series to other hit shows and Oscar winning movies.
One person replying to the trailer on YouTube said: “Looks like it could be one of them rare gems!!I’m loving the vibe!”

Sky is giving away a free Netflix subscription with its new TV bundles, including the £15 Essential TV plan. Members can watch live and on-demand TV content without a satellite dish, including hit shows like The Last of Us, Black Mirror and all WWE programming.
A user described their excitement by saying: “I’m actually crying at the moment because this is going to transform my life.”
Another added: “This looks good! Seven meets The Revenant!” While someone else replied: “Seven meets Yellowstone.”
These comparisons are perhaps unsurprising, especially when considering the series is co-created and co-written by Mark L. Smith who also penned The Revenant and American Primeval.
Many were delighted to see actor Eric Bana back in a leading role. While he appeared in three films released last year, including a sequel to The Dry, it is his first major part in a television series for seven years.
He appeared in 2018’s Dirty John which was released via Netflix. One person commented: “A criminally underused actor, great to see Netflix getting him into something.”
However, someone else was seemingly hoping for a very different movie. They said : “Kinda wish this was a secret Jurassic Park film. Imagine a lone dinosaur hunting off people in a small town….maybe a mother predator gathering food for her babies.”
Untamed is streaming on Netflix from July 17.
