Emmerdale’s Billy Fletcher was left heartbroken earlier this year when wife Dawn left him for Joe Tate

Emmerdale fans are convinced they’ve figured out Billy Fletcher’s new love interest.

Earlier this year, Billy was left heartbroken when his wife Dawn Fletcher ended their marriage and he later learnt she had been having an affair with Joe Tate.

In another blow to the village favourite, Friday’s episode saw Joe accuse Billy of stealing his own adopted daughter Clemmie Reed’s mobile, which of course Billy didn’t do and it was Kammy Hadiq.

Taking to social media, viewers want Billy to find love again especially after a tough few weeks for him in the village. One person said: “Anyone else thinking a little fling for Kim and Billy would brighten the mood in the dales!”

To which other viewers replied, suggesting Billy should start a romance with Belle Dingle. Soap watchers will recall that Belle is recently divorced from abusive husband Tom King, who is currently serving time in prison following his reign of terror on Belle.

While in more recent scenes, Joe wanted Dawn to take over the Home Farm weddings, independent of Take A Vow, where Belle works.

Dawn pitched herself as Belle’s new business partner but Belle made her swear Take A Vow will never take money from Joe Tate.

Later, Joe offered to loan Dawn money for the business behind Belle’s back and Dawn was left torn… but ultimately she refused and instead secured a business loan from the bank.

One person said: “I think they need to pair Belle and Billy up”, a different account put: “Me too it would be just what they both need x” while another added: “Belle and billy xx.”

Elsewhere, a different soap watcher put: “Belle maybe, it’s about time she had good luck”, another wrote: “I am so over Dawn and Joe, can we just let them leave now and get Billy and Belle together” while a different viewer added: “Belle up at home farm, it’s getting closer to Belle and Billy scenes #emmerdale make this happen. Belle and Billy would make a great couple.”

It comes as Billy actor Jay Kontzle recently told The Mirror: “Billy has been doing all he can to keep his family together – and will always have hope he and Dawn can be together, but for now his kids are his priority. He will do anything to keep his family.”

Unlike his character, who he has played since 2017, in real life Jay is very happily married to artist Mimi who he lives with in Yorkshire, along with their kids Kaibo, eight, Zian, six, and Xiao, two.
