Virgin River actress Alexandra Breckenridge has shared an update about season seven with fans.
Taking to Instagram, the 43-year-old Mel Monroe actress posted a short video on her Instagram Stories in between takes on season seven of the Netflix hit.
Breckenridge started: “Hey there, Happy Monday. You see anything different about me today? Any ideas?”
The star panned down to show off her costume, consisting of a hoodie and blue scrubs.
She continued: “Something scrub-like? I wonder why Alex could be wearing scrubs? Hmmm, I wonder what’s going on?”
The star went on to tease: “You’re just going to have to wait until season seven to find out, aren’t you?
“She’s getting her nurse on. That was so cheesy, I’m so sorry. I apologise, it’s really early. I didn’t get much sleep. I’m a little loopy.
“My teeth look so white with this filter, I love it.”
Signing off, she said: “Talk to you guys later, see you soon.”
Although Breckenridge didn’t confirm anything, there may be a few possibilities about why Mel could be back in scrubs.
One theory is that Mel could have a new job now that Doc’s (Tim Matheson) clinic is under investigation, with the nurse practitioner seeking out fresh employment.
Alternatively, she could be getting ready to help deliver Marley’s (played by Rachel Drance) baby after the young woman found Mel at a birthing facility.
The season six finale saw Marley asking Mel and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) to adopt her unborn child.
While fans will have to wait and see what happens, Breckenridge’s video serves as an intriguing development in the storyline.
Both Breckenridge and Henderson, 50, have been sharing updates from the season seven set and most recently seemed to hint at the upcoming outing’s premiere.
Breckenridge posted a poll on Instagram in which she cryptically wrote: “Virgin River season 7 2025?” and invited fans to respond either yes or no.
She previously said in another video: “I feel like I’m on day 857 of filming Season 7.
“We’re almost done, can you believe it? I can’t even believe it. Almost to the finish line.
“I keep wondering if they’re going to put the show out this year. What do you guys think? Probably, right?
“If they have it, they’ll probably drop it … this year, 2025. I don’t know any information. I’m the last to know.”
Season six landed in one go in December 2024 and each run has been premiering pretty consistently each year.
So, it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume season seven will be dropping later this year but as yet Netflix hasn’t confirmed a concrete release date.
